With Facebook and Google both set to release a location-based app soon, here’s a few things I’d like to see.
It seems like a combination of Google Latitude/Maps/Places/Navigation/Buzz would be perfect.

Always on and tracking your movements
Uses record of previous check-ins to suggest venues to visit (types of venues, hours of operation, price of goods)
Nudges you to check-in when you are not moving for a certain amount of time
Deep analytics of history of movements, travel routes, etc.
Notify when you are close to friends
Suggest meeting places in between you and a friend
Good privacy control

I’m going to attempt to post one photo here every day in 2010. The three cameras I will be using are my iPhone, Canon SD1100 and Jenae’s Diana Mini. The Diana mini uses film so if I post a photo taken with the Diana in may be a couple days after it was taken and developed. I’ll make a comment with what camera I used to take the photo.

Finished Projects

A couple projects that Jenae and I finished lately are a credenza that I built and a vintage chair that Jenae and her mom re-upholstered. Jenae’s dad helped me build the box for the credenza. We built it out of MDF and painted it white. The doors are just made out of a thin piece of wood with an Oak (I believe) veneer that we stained. We took the base and legs off of a hutch that we purchased off craigslist a few months back. I sanded them down and stained them to match the doors.

The chair is a a mid-sixties Jerry Johnson. The patent calls it a “chair with unitary suspended seat and backrest.” Jenae’s grandparents had the chair but the upholstery was in bad shape. Jenae picked out a gray fabric and her mom helped recover it. One of these chairs was also recently featured on the cover of Atomic Ranch magazine.

Johnny Cash’s next posthumous release in the Rick Rubin-helmed “American” series and first official follow-up to American V: A Hundred Highways from his infamous recording sessions in the months between the death of June Carter and his own last days in the fall of 2003 will hit shelves on the week of his birthday in February of next year.

According to the founder of Cash’s official site and an Amazon import listing, the album will come out on February 23 (Cash’s birthday is the 26th) and is titled American VI: Ain’t No Grave. No official confirmation has come through the wire just yet and both the artwork above and the track list below are in a pseudo-rumored stage at this point, but here’s the list of tracks to (possibly) make the cut:
